Hola, language lovers and adventure seekers!
We’re still buzzing from our latest adventure. This time, our crew from Ideal Spanish Mexico took a delightful field trip to the Pueblo Mágico of Malinalco! If you haven’t been, it’s a stunning, history-rich town nestled in the mountains—perfect for a day of exploration (and maybe burning a few calories on the way up to the pyramid!).
We didn’t just go to practice our conversational Spanish; we went to soak up the culture, the views, and, of course, snap some great pics for you! We know you’re busy learning el subjuntivo, so we’ll keep the text light and let the pictures do the talking.
Here are a few visual highlights from our amazing day in Malinalco:
A Moment of Serenity at Santa Mónica
Every time we head up to the famous Aztec pyramid, we pass by the beautiful Santa Mónica Church. This time, luck was on our side, the doors were open!

Wedding Bells at the Divine Savior
Just next to the majestic Augustinian Convent of the Transfiguration is the Church of the Divine Savior (Iglesia del Divino Salvador). Talk about timing! We were treated to the sight of a very elegant wedding in full swing. It’s always fun to see the beautiful traditions of a Mexican wedding!

Nature’s Beauty on the Ascent
The climb up the mountain to the main pyramid site is always a good workout, but it’s hard to complain when you have views like this! The local flora is simply stunning.

Our Student Takes the View
And finally, no trip is complete without a summit photo! Our wonderful student from Switzerland paused to take in the sprawling vista from the top of the pyramid mountain. The view over the town and the valley is absolutely breathtaking.

That’s a wrap on our Malinalco excursion! We’re back in the classroom (and maybe a little sore from the hike!), ready to dive back into Spanish lessons.
Did you enjoy the photos? Have you ever visited Malinalco? Let us know in the comments!
