A Natural Wonder Born from the Earth

Located in the warm heart of Morelos, Las Estacas is more than just a water park—it is a natural spring resort centered around a crystalline river. The water literally “borrows” its life here, surging from a natural spring (borbollón) at a remarkable rate.

Because the water originates from the filtration of the nearby volcanoes, it is incredibly pure. As you swim downstream, the clarity is breathtaking; you can see straight to the riverbed, where lush aquatic plants dance in the gentle current. This transparency makes the river exceptionally safe and inviting for swimmers of all levels. While some sections offer deep, tranquil pools perfect for diving, other areas are shallow enough to stand in, allowing you to simply drift along at your own pace.

The Perfect Climate for Adventure

There is often a funny debate among our groups regarding the water temperature. By Mexican standards, the river is considered “frío.” However, for our students visiting from Canada, the northern United States, Germany, or Switzerland, the water is usually described as “perfectly refreshing.”

Given that Las Estacas is situated in a low-lying, tropical zone of Morelos, the sun is quite strong and the air is warm. Stepping into the cool, mineral-rich water is the ultimate antidote to the afternoon heat.
