Photo of the Week: Taxco’s Magic Hour at Santa Prisca

Welcome to our weekly peek into the adventures that happen outside the classroom! This week’s photo takes us to the stunning Pueblo Mágico of Taxco de Alarcón, a beautiful colonial town nestled in the mountains just a short trip from our Cuernavaca school.

This snapshot captures a truly special moment from last Saturday’s excursion. The sun was a golden orb, casting a warm glow over the iconic Santa Prisca Church and the charming, cobblestone streets. But look closely-dark, brooding clouds were already gathering on the horizon, hinting at an impending afternoon downpour. It was a perfect moment of dramatic beauty, a quiet calm before the storm. Adding to the authentic Mexican street scene, an iconic “Vocho” (Volkswagen Beetle) can be spotted, a charming touch that truly captures the essence of a Mexican Pueblo Mágico.

Our group, with wonderful German volunteers, explored every corner of Taxco. They had such a fantastic time that, when it was time to head back to Cuernavaca, they were in no hurry to leave this enchanting town.
